Sebastian Wolfe

Doctor Sebastian Wolfe, Resistance leader and scientist.


Pre-Invasion File:

Doctor Sebastian Wolfe was a brilliant theoretical physicist and Harvard alumni. He first gained acclaim when he wrote his thesis, titled Quantum Decoherence and its Effect on Anomalous Materials with Ultra-High Quantum Resonance Factors, which lead to the famous Innsbruck Experiment years later.

Wolfe later got a job at the Anomalous Materials Laboratory at the Black Mesa Research Facility in New Mexico. He worked closely with Doctor Kleiner and Doctor Ivanenko on discovering a material that would make a stable, directed teleporter.

In 1999, this line of research caused the Resonance Cascade that would lead to the occupation of Earth. Sebastian and Doctor Kleiner managed to escape Black Mesa, only to be captured and separated.

Doctor Wolfe was sent to City 17, where he blended into the crowd of refugees.

Post-Invasion Files:

Sebastian slowly acquired contacts throughout City 17, where he began organizing a resistance force. They discovered the canals that led out of the City, and established a small town called Ravenholm just outside of the City perimeter.

Sebastian himself took up residence outside the city, in an old hydroelectric dam generator station just before Ravenholm. Even at its low level the flowing water produced enough power for the little base and the lab he built inside it without being noticed.

From his lab, which he named Black Mesa East, he set up the Underground Railroad out of City 17 and to Ravenholm and beyond. He also began development on a new teleporter in tandem with Doctor Kleiner to get people out of the City.

Unfortunately, the Union found Ravenholm and shelled it mercilessly with headcrabs. The few that survived the attack retreated to Black Mesa East, which the Union had missed in its raid.
